Instance Manager provides the administrator capability to manage the instances in the envoirnment easily. User interface for Instance Manager is excellent and navigation across the pages is user friendly.
Search Funtionality: Instance Manager includes broad range of search critiera (for example owner, report name, start time, status etc) for the administrator to filter out the instances. Instance Manager provides administrator the ability to modify the page size for resultset at run time as well as configuration settings changes. Instance Manager also has excellent sorting features for all fields which were missed in Business Objects Instance Manager. Instance Manager also display useful fields in the search results like file size, elapsed time etc.
Export Funtionality: Instance Manager also provides ability to administrators to export search results into pdf/excel format.
Cleanup Funtionality: Instance Manager is a powerful tool to do the cleanup in the repository. For the Enterprise repository where millions of report instances are generated it is difficult to manage the instances and do the cleanup. As a result of huge number of instances envoirnment performance is degraded. It also requires huge disk space and it is difficult for end users to search for the Instance they are looking for.
- Failed Instances Cleanup: Instance Manager provides feature to do cleanup for the failed instances. Administrator can filter out the instances based on various search criteria. Once results are displayed administrator can delete all instances in one button click or can select multiple based on his choice and do the clean up. Once cleanup will be done the result set will be refreshed and displayed to the screen. Number of instances deleted in previous deletion will also be displayed. Administrator have ability to export the results to excel/pdf before deletion/after deletion.
- Success Instances Cleanup: Administrator can filter out the instances based on various Search criteria. Administrator has ability to build an array of date which can be excluded from the result set. Remaining instances can be cleanup in single button click or selection based.
- Recurring Instance Cleanup: Along with other various critiera, Administrator has the ability to filter the Recurring Instances which do not have any successful Instances since last N days and do the cleanup.
Change Owner: Instance Manager provides ability to administrator to change the owner of any instances. Administrator can search and select multiple reports in one click and change the owners of the report instances. User search option is also included so that assigning new owner will be easy.
Schedule For: Instance Manager provides capability to the administrator to modify the schedule for information for already existing scheduled reports. Administrator can select any recurring existing report and assign new setup of users for whom the report should run.
Configuration Settings: Instance Manager provides administrator ability to configure various application level settings like page size, default system name, maximum number of instances to fetch.
Logging Feature: Instance Manager provides excellent logging features. Logging directory path can be configured through settings. Logging can also be turn off/on by configuration settings. Log files generated by Instance Manager are easy to read.
Instance Manager supports BusinessObjects XI, BOEXIR2 version.
